Swift/iOS Development Campaign for ACCS
THE GOAL: PROMOTE A NEW PROGRAM
The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) was one of the nation’s first four systems/districts selected by Apple for this exciting program.
Apple developed curriculum for Programming with Swift, courses that teach Apple’s Swift programming language, which is used for developing iPhone and iPad apps.
Ascend was tasked with promoting the new courses to prospective students statewide.
- Conduct research to determine which demographics are most interested in the curriculum
- Create campaigns on multiple platforms for these audiences, including Google search ads, social media, and programmatic display ads
This two month campaign was a great success. Within two weeks of the campaign beginning, we were already approached by the ACCS to discuss a new campaign.
Each individual college handled leads, so we’re unable to share the exact number of leads generated. However, we generated over one million impressions and clicks measured in five-figures.
One of the most exciting aspects of our work is that we were able to generate strong interest—and leads—from groups not traditionally interested in STEM fields such as software/app development. Our performance among minorities and women was a pleasant surprise to all.
